Voltamp Transformers Limited was established in 1963. The company is based in Vadodara - a city 400 km North of Mumbai (INDIA). The city is well connected by Air, Rail and Road.

The Company has installed facility to manufacture oil filled power and distribution transformers up to 50 MVA, 132 KV class, resin impregnated dry type transformers up to 5 MVA, 11 KV class (In Technical collaboration with MORA, GERMANY) and cast Resin dry type transformers up to 7.5 MVA, 33 KV class (In Technical collaboration with HTT, GERMANY). We have four independent units each for oil filled power transformer, oil filled distribution transformer, resin impregnated dry type transformer and cast resin type transformer. The factory is spread over 6 acres of land and has a built up area of 11,350 sq.mtr. The total installed capacity is around 5000 MVA per annum.

We are one of the leading companies of India who design & manufacture a complete range of Transformers in our class. Our Transformers meet international standards and are tested for all the parameters required to withstand rigorous performance standard. Our reliability can be measured by the repeat orders that we have been receiving from all our customers and regular orders which come from various Government and Semi-Government projects, Refineries, Fertilizer Plants, various other Industries and State Electricity Boards. Many of these Transformers are specified by Consulting Engineering Companies.

The turnover of the GROUP for the year ended 31.03.2006 is about Rs. 2500 million, 90% of our business comes from Project Business through leading consultants of International repute - M/s. ENGINEERS INDIA LTD., KVAERNER POWER GAS, UHDE INDIA LTD., CHEMTEX ENGG. LTD., DALAL CONSULTANTS LTD., BECHTEL, MECON, DEVELOPMENT CONSULTANTS LTD., FICHTNER CONSULTING ENGINEERS PVT. LTD. - to name a few. All the turnkey Contractors like ABB, SIEMENS, L & T etc. are regularly sourcing their Transformer requirements from us for their switch yard package orders.


M/s. Voltamp Transformers Limited, Vadodara was initially incorporated as a Private Limited Company in the year 1967, in the State of Gujarat by converting the erstwhile Partnership Firm named as "Voltamp Corporation" which was established in the year 1963 by Mr.Lalitkumar H. Patel, B. Sc. (Engg.), London, A.C.G.I., M.I.E. Mr. Lalitkumar worked with M/s. SIEMENS, Germany from 1951 to 1959, at their Nurenberg Transformer Division where he got experience in all the aspects of Transformer manufacturing. On his return, he joined M/s. Bharat Bijlee Ltd. / Siemens India, (then a Licensee of Siemens) from 1961 to 1963.

Thereafter he started his own Company. Voltamp Transformers Limited, Vadodara has a very steady growth rate based on the order book position and strong inquiry inflow, the company expects to grow at more that 30% in 2006-2007.
